  • 30 Baltic Sea Impact Network members from 6 countries meet in Tallinn

This month, we welcomed 30 Baltic Sea Impact Network members from six countries to Tallinn for our Community Event! As a bonus, we invited the members to join the largest sustainability festival in the Baltics - Impact Day. Members traveled from as far as Kyiv, Ukraine to finally get to know each other face-to-face.

Although connecting was a primary focus, our time together was also about learning and growth. Nina Miller, our Partnership and Development Manager at Reach for Change, led an engaging workshop packed with practical tips on pitching and relationship-building.

    • Key message: Your brand is your drive, your story and how you present yourself, and it sets expectations for future interactions.

The members then practiced delivering their pitches to one another, refining their skills and gaining valuable feedback in the process.

Next, Samuel Põldaru, Partnerships Manager at Impact Day, shared valuable insights on effective networking at live events. Here are some of his key tips for making the most of meetings:

    • Define your meeting goal - focus on establishing a follow-up interaction rather than closing a deal on the spot.
    • Ask questions and get to know the other person, rather than just talking about yourself.
    • Explore collaboration openly - if you don't see an immediate opportunity to work together, ask directly. Sometimes, new ideas arise even when you don't see them yourself.
    • Manage your time - keep the interaction concise, and if there's a strong connection, arrange to continue the conversation
    • Connect on LinkedIn immediately after your discussion.

The network members had the opportunity to put these learnings into practice right away as the next two days were spent networking and getting inspired at the Impact Day Festival.

One of the Network members, Annelie Hultman representing The Good Talents, reflects:

I had a fantastic experience at the event, particularly enjoying the in-person networking opportunities and the interactive workshops. It was a great chance to connect with like-minded professionals, which made the event both enriching and inspiring.
