  • Reach for Change hosts inaugural Ethiopian EdTech Week to Grow Innovation and Investment in Inclusive Technology-Enabled Learning

Reach for Change Ethiopia is hosting Ethiopian EdTech Week, a two-day flagship event bringing together EdTech entrepreneurs, investors, ecosystem enablers, and high-level stakeholders to engage on the bold innovations in learning and catalyze collaboration across the education technology sector.

The event will feature two key thematic areas:

    ● Day 1: Ecosystem Engagement & Innovation Showcase – A day of keynote addresses, interactive panels, networking, exhibitions, and cultural performances designed to foster dialogue and inspire collective action.

    ● Day 2: Demo Day & Investment Forum – This day’s agenda will feature the work of the first Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship graduating cohort in Ethiopia who will pitch their solutions to an audience of investors, partners, and education stakeholders, with the goal of scaling their innovations across Ethiopia and beyond.

Ethiopian EdTech Week 2025 also serves to commemorate the graduation of the first cohort of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship in the country. The Fellowship is an entrepreneurship acceleration program designed to support promising African EdTech enterprises. In Ethiopia, it is supporting 36 EdTech enterprises over a three-year term.

As the implementing partner in Ethiopia, Reach for Change has worked with 11 visionary Ethiopian-owned enterprises to provide them with financial and business support, coaching, exposure to global learning science, and access to networks that prepare them to scale sustainably. During the 12-month acceleration period, the EdTech Fellows' innovations reached 255,217 learners in Ethiopia.

This week is more than a graduation — it’s a celebration of vision, resilience, and a glimpse of the future for tech-based inclusive learning in Ethiopia. Our first cohort of Fellows have not only developed groundbreaking solutions, but they’ve reached thousands of learners, including girls and young women who need equal opportunity to unleash their potential. Their impact is a reflection of what’s possible when innovation meets purpose.
