EU Extends Protection for Ukrainian Refugees – New Initiative Launched in Sweden to Strengthen Mental Health and Integration
On 13 June 2025, the EU announced the extension of temporary protection for over four million Ukrainian refugees until 4 March 2027. This decision reflects the continued need for long-term support and initiatives that promote refugee well-being, resilience, and the ability to participate actively in society. In direct connection to this, a new initiative is now being launched in Sweden: Facilitating Refugee Integration through Dedicated Mental Health Support (FRID).

Why IMPACT Matters: Strengthening Social Entrepreneurs Through Better Impact Measurement
Together with Social Enterprise Alliance Georgia (SEA) and EcoVisio from Moldova—and with support from the Swedish Institute—we are proud to launch the IMPACT project. True to its name, IMPACT (Impact Measurement through Partnership, Assessment, and Communicating Transparently) aims to lay the foundations for long-term collaboration. The project will empower social entrepreneurs in Sweden, Georgia, and Moldova to better measure their impact and communicate it more effectively to external audiences.

Reach for Change Ethiopia has announced 13 innovative EdTech enterprises as Fellows for the 2025 cohort of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship. The enterprises that are the second cohort under the Fellowship in the country under the acceleration program will receive support and resources to scale their innovative technology-enabled solutions, which aim to enhance inclusive learning opportunities across Ethiopia.

Emerging adults experience lacking support for their mental health
In the Nordics, 70 percent of all emerging adults aged 18-29 have experienced mental health issues, while 5 out of 10 choose not to seek help due to stigma. Among those who do seek help, a majority (65%) feel that the support they receive is of poor quality, they are misunderstood or not taken seriously. This is highlighted in a new survey, the first of its kind that ensures representation of emerging adults (18-29) in Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. The survey was conducted by Perspetivo on behalf of Reach for Change, The Inner Foundation, and the Tim Bergling Foundation.

Reach for Change will together with House of Hope (HoH) and Liepaja City Municipality Central Administration (LCMCA) increase youth employment by strengthening the collaboration between social entrepreneurs and the municipality. 2024 has been quite a year - with more than half of the world’s population going to the polls, and volatile conflicts and humanitarian crises feeding instability and worry. At Reach for Change, our solution to these anxious times is to rely on trust, community, and conviction that there are social entrepreneurs out there who can tackle these uncertainties with innovation and powerful solutions. Additionally, with a smart, brave, and passionate team, we overcame these uncertainties and could rely on our community of entrepreneurs and new and committed partners who have joined us.

Sweden impact story
Building a more equal and inclusive Sweden by strengthening young women’s physical and mental health
Susan Dahlbeck grew up in Järva just outside Stockholm, where many people struggle with unequal opportunities and exclusion. She herself experienced how local gyms and sports activities were dominated by men and lacked safe places for young women. Over time Susan realized this was not just a personal frustration but a systemic problem. In 2019, she decided to act. She founded Healthy Women, a network empowering young women through physical activities and social connections.
