Life with Down Syndrome
The project Life with Down Syndrom aimes to provoke the interest and awareness of the society towards the Down Syndrome trough a series of entertaining and informative video clips of Krassimir and Silvena’s children - Kris and Mikaela who is diagnosed with the Syndrom.
Around 100 children with Down Syndrome are born in Bulgaria every year. They are isolated and unaccepted by the society, a large number of the children are abandones by their parents.
After their second child Mikaela was born with Down Syndrome, Krasimir and Silvena launched their first family video “My sister has a Down Syndrome”. The video quickly became very popular and the young couple realised they can help and encourage other families in the same situation. They launched a family reality format in which trough entertaining and informative video clips they will uncover the life of their daughter. They will share the everyday life and the challenges children with Down Syndrome and their families face. In this way they will provoke the interest and awareness of children and adults. They believe we live in a mobile world in which the easiest and fastest way to reach society is video sharing.
Parent: ''You gave us so much courage and hope to continue with our life and to believe that our newborn child with Down Syndrome will develop the way your child does!''
