Kirsten Birk Olsen
Kirsten Birk Olsen has founded Følgeskabet (The Followship), which works with establishing strong leadership communities in the daycare centers and kindergartens. Leaders and representatives of the parents attend courses, seminars, and/or development conversations in order to create a unified and agreed upon path for the cooperation between the parents and employees, for the benefit of the children.
There is a huge untapped potential in the group of parents. The parents are present in the daycare center or kindergartens every day, and often even several times each day. However, they seldom know how to react and how to interact within the community of children and professionals in the daycare or kindergarten. Often more than not, this has nothing to do with will, but with the lack of knowledge and know-how to, in a beneficial way, enter the community threshold.
Følgeskabet wants to address the established mindset surrounding the role of parents in the daycare centers and kindergartens, and making it easy for them to become co-creators in the well-being and educational development of the children. They do so by offering leaders and representatives of the parents courses, seminars, and/or development conversations in order to create a unified and agreed upon path for the cooperation between the parents and employees, for the benefit of the children. After having agreed upon common goals, visions and values, Følgeskabet follows up by providing workshops, lectures and facilitating of the process, in order to implement it in the everyday of the institution.
